From A Weak to Confident Communicator - 30 Day Challenge

Day 24 Challenge: Focus on the behavior not the person

"You are lazy to clean your bedroom. When will you become organized?"

Doesn't the above statement sound like a complaint? Oh yeah, it does.

When you have to give any advice for improvement, do not tag the person. When you focus on the behavior, your message seems more welcoming.

You can instead focus on the behavior by saying, "The bedroom looks messy. Putting things in place would make it seem tidy." When the focus shifts from the person to the behavior, the message seems more welcoming and polite. It also increases the chances of the person taking it sportively and making a correction.

Today, you must draft your words to focus on the behavior instead of the person.
