From A Weak to Confident Communicator - 30 Day Challenge
Consider the two sentences below
- I need help on this
- I need your help on this
If someone were to ask you for help, which one of the two would you prefer? Most people will say they prefer the second.
Using words such as you, your, you're adds a touch of personalization. Though the change seems very subtle, it creates an unspoken sense of connection.
Today, you will try to use more of the word "you" in your conversations. Be cautious when you refer to a mistake with the word "you". Such a statement can come across as offensive to the listener. As a rule of thumb, avoid using the word "you" when the statement is negative.
