Interview with Geethica Mehra from Thoughts By Geethica

A few days back I had the privilege to exchange some thoughts with a fellow blogger from the personal development niche.

Geethica runs her blog https://thoughtsbygeethica.com/

Geethica writes on a wide array of topics such as motivation, parenting and relationships. She is an avid reader and also writes articles providing a summary of the book from her perspective.

She is also an author, having written her book, The Power Within: Motivational stories from real life experiences

The interview:

Maxim: Tell us about your blog. What made you start writing about Self Improvement?

Geethica: My blog is my true reflection. It has always been about self improvement. Initially, I blogged about how parenting brought positive changes in me and I became more patient. Then gradually, I read about nurturing our soul the right way from various resources and blogged my way.

Maxim: Tell us about your personal journey in self improvement. Give us some examples of how you improve yourself regularly.

Geethica: Self improvement starts from self only. It is hard to let go off your ego, anger, want, greed and criticism to get a peaceful life. I fail so many times in my daily life but resist negativity to overshadow me. Meditate a little and do something that makes me happy; be it watching the sky for no reason or drinking tea/coffee off the schedule.

Maxim: Among all the articles you have written, which one is your favorite? Why?

Geethica:

It is difficult to choose one but they are the closest to my heart. Marry someone you admire

I like this because these are my true feelings for my spouse. Whenever I am angry with him, I read this and calm down.

Maxim: Self improvement has various aspects. However, if you had to give only one single piece of advice to your readers, what would it be?

Geethica: One advice would be to be quiet when you are really angry. It is the hardest thing to do but if done even once you feel powerful. Anger always blinds our thinking process and when we think later, we realise it was better to be quiet at that time. Your silence doesn’t mean that you are weak.

Maxim: What advice would you give to a young person just starting his/her journey of self improvement?

Geethica: Just believe in yourself and do things which you feel are correct to yourself first.

Maxim: If you had a time machine that sent you 10 years back in time, what self improvement advice would you give yourself?

Geethica: Clarity of ideas and power to make them true.

Maxim: How has your blogging and writing influenced and transformed you? Do you think you have changed as a person since you started blogging?

Geethica: Definitely! My blog has transformed me for good. It listens to me and the most important quality is that it is not judgemental. It accepts me as I am.

Maxim: What makes you happiest as a blogger?

Geethica: I am the happiest when I am able to blog my true feelings for my God. How thankful I am to Him for every breath I take.

Maxim: Who are the other self improvement bloggers that you’re a fan of?

Geethica: Amrita Misra Basu from www.healthwealthbridge.com is one of the first online friends I found through blogging whose thought process works same as me.

Maxim: Where can the readers contact you?

Geethica: People can feel free to contact me on my email – interact@thoughtsbygeethica.com

Maxim: Thanks a lot Geethica. It was wonderful knowing your thoughts. Continue blogging and influencing people. All the best.

  • Lovely interview Geethica. Self improvement starts from self-realization. And if understand our current state of mind and then react then there will always be positivity around us.
I also prefer to keep quiet when angry or upset. It not only helps me in recollecting my thoughts but also stops me from spreading negativity in my surroundings.

    • As Geethica and you rightly said, self improvement starts from oneself by battling our own ego. Geethica has shared some valuable thoughts. I have got her book The Power Within: Motivational stories from real life experiences on my kindle and it is on my upcoming reading list.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Also, you have a nice blog yourself. Keep up the good work 🙂
